  • Important Notice to our Visa Check Cardholders: When making your travel plans, always alert your local branch regarding the dates and locations of your trip. Debit card transactions are monitored, and card activity outside your normal usage could block the use of your card. Notifying the bank will prevent this from happening and ensure uninterrupted card use.

  • ‘Phishing’ attacks are used by computer hackers to imitate legitimate companies, typically via e-mails or through a legitimate-looking website. Victims are asked to provide personal information such as passwords, PIN numbers, account numbers, social security numbers, debit card and credit card numbers in a reply e-mail or at the bogus website. Many people become victims of identity theft as a result of phishing attacks. Please be aware that Citizens Bank & Trust Company will NEVER ask you to disclose any personal information in the form of an unsolicited e-mail. Please contact us for more information or if you believe you are a victim of phishing.

  • NOTICE OF EXPIRATION OF THE TEMPORARY FULL FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR NONINTEREST-BEARING TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

By operation of federal law, beginning January 1, 2013, funds deposited in a noninterest-bearing transaction account (including an Interest on Lawyer Trust Account) no longer will receive unlimited deposit insurance coverage by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Beginning January 1, 2013, all of a depositor’s accounts at an insured depository institution, including all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts, will be insured by the FDIC up to the standard maximum deposit insurance amount ($250,000), for each deposit insurance ownership category.

The term “noninterest-bearing transaction account” includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (“IOLTAs”). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.

For more information about temporary FDIC insurance coverage of transaction accounts, visit http://www.fdic.gov/deposit/unlimited/expiration.html.
